INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU RECEIVE A CITATION
AMOUNT OF CITATION: The amount of a traffic speed violation is $50.00 unless the motorist requests a court hearing. (see information below)
ONLINE PAYMENT: You may pay your Notice online. Go to https://www.violationgateway.com/madisonvilletn and logon with your Notice Number and Plate Number shown in the red box on the front of the notice. Click the Pay button.
PAYMENT BY PHONE: Call 1-877-922-2012, Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm est.
PAYMENT BY MAIL: Complete the bottom portion of the front side of the Notice. Add your check or money order (payable to the City of Madisonville) in the enclosed envelope, affix a stamp and mail. DO NOT MAIL CASH. Be sure to put the Notice Number (see reverse) on the face of your payment and make sure the addresses appear in the envelope windows. If you have any questions, please call 877-922-2012.
VIEW YOUR IMAGES: The recorded images and video will be submitted as evidence in the Madisonville Municipal Court proceeding for prosecution of the violation. You may view your images online at https://www.violationgateway.com/madisonvilletn. You will need your Notice Number and Plate Number printed on the front of the Notice.
COURT HEARING: If you wish to dispute the Notice of Violation, do not send payment. Please call the Automated Traffic Enforcement Division for Madisonville at 1-877-922-2012 to ask for the next available city court date. If you request a court date, and are convicted of, or found guilty of, or enter a plea of Nolo Contendere to the offense, then the following court costs will apply as follows:
Speeding (2-9 mph over the posted speed limit) = $85.00 Speeding (10-19 mph over the posted speed limit) = $90.00 Speeding (20-29 mph over the posted speed limit) = $100.00 Speeding (30+ mph over the posted speed limit) = $120.00
A confirmation with the hearing date will be sent to you in the mail.
If you are found NOT GUILTY of the offense, NO court costs or Fine will be assessed.

OTHER: If, at the time and place of the violation, ownership of the motor vehicle had been transferred, the license plate captured by the Recorded Image was stolen, or other justification, the owner may submit information to that affect by affidavit, by mail to the Court prior to the due date. A list of other justifications is set forth in the above-referenced Tennessee Rules of the Road. You may also obtain the form from https://www.violationgateway.com/madisonvilletn. You will need your Notice Number and Plate Number printed on the front of the Notice.
IF YOU ARE A RENTAL CAR COMPANY send your letter identifying the driver of record on the date of the violation along with copy of this Notice to the Automated Traffic Enforcement Division, P.O. Box 601, Memphis, TN 38101-0601. This information must be furnished within 21 days of receipt of this Notice.
TO PAY THE FINE: Place your check or money order (made payable to the City of Madisonville) or credit card information for the amount due along with this form in the enclosed envelope and mail to:

Failure to pay the fine amount on or before the due date printed on the front of the Notice will result in a Notice to Appear in Court. |
